Because Microsoft requires all kernel driver must be signed on x64-based Systems Running Windows Vista, we didn't test NTPort Library under x64 edition, we will provide signed x64 driver before Windows Vista official releases.

( 3 / 2081 )Zeal SoftStudio has released an update version of NTPort Library, Version 2.7.
In this version, we officially support Windows x64 driver. Thanks for all people who took part in our beta test. As we declared, fast mode is not supported in x64 driver. If you call EnablePorts or DisablePorts, you will get an error, ERROR_INVALID_FUNCTION (= 2). Windows Installer Merge Module (registered version only) still supports only x86 (32-bit) edition, and the next version will provide x64 version of merge module. Only 32-bit version of Ntport.dll is included, and we will ship x64 version of Ntport.dll in NTPort Library 3.0.
In this version, Visual Studio 2005 and Borland Developer Studio 2006 are also supported. We tested all samples under both IDEs.
A minor bug was fixed, that sometimes calling IsWin64 function will cause access violation error(#40048).

( 3 / 2477 )In NTPort Library v2.6.1 and previous versions, we included Borland C++Builder 3.0 samples, so that all users of Borland C++Builder 4.0 to 6.0 can also open these samples. But Borland Developer Studio 2006 only supports the projects created by Borland C++Builder 5.0 and 6.0, so you can't open our NTPort Library 2.x samples in BDS 2006. You can first open and save our samples in Borland C++Builder 6.0, and then open them in BDS 2006. We will update the project format of these samples to C++Builder 6.0 in the next version of NTPort Library.

( 3.1 / 2364 )Fast mode is one of most important features of NTPort Library. NTPort Library can run under two modes: normal mode and fast mode, under Windows NT/2000/XP/Server 203. By default, it runs under normal mode, but fast mode is generally faster than normal mode. We use two undocumented functions to implement fast mode, but both functions are removed from Windows XP/Server 2003 x64 edition. So fast mode will not be supported in NTPort Library x64 edition.

( 2.9 / 2106 )We added TCL/TK samples for NTPort Library to the download section. Those samples are requested by one of our value customers. We are not familiar with TCL/TK, so those samples may be not optimized. We provide them to demonstrate how to call our library in TCL/TK. If you find any problems in those samples, please feel free to contact us. All samples are generated by Visual TCL 1.6.0 tested under ActiveTcl 8.4.12. We recommend you to use Visual TCL to view and modify those samples. Németh József Gábor's DLL caller is also used in those samples.
